Leighton-Linslade Covid-19 Task Force – Updated 24.03.20

The Task Force comprises representatives from faith, the community, homeless service, town council and Bedfordshire and Luton Emergency Volunteer Executive as well as a corps of volunteers.

Immediate Response: The Task Force has begun to provide food parcels to those who find themselves in desperate immediate need.

In addition, the Task Force is considering ways of working with local businesses in order to ensure that the supply of food is maintained.

Free Telephone Bereavement Support

Cruse bereavement care offer free bereavement support. At present that will be telephone as all 1:1 and group work is suspended, but will be back in place as soon as it’s safe to do so.

Emotional Support

Adept Living Foundation (ALF) CIC have set up a free online support group for emotional support at this time – https://community-hub-peering-collectives.mn.co/groups/2021455/
Volunteers will be present online for a video/telephone support group, every day of the week, starting at 11am tomorrow morning (Weds 18th March 2020). You can join these calls through the Zoom app or a web browser using the following link. https://zoom.us/j/549236134

Emotional Support for Teens

Leighton Buzzard youth club would like young people to know you are not alone, if your are feeling stressed at this present time please check out Kooth.com

We can also support any young people on a 1-2-1 basis by text or phone call. Please message me on here if your young person needs support.
